The Secret (and Simple) Formula to Getting Major Gift Visits

So I often share this simple formula to getting visits.
I hope it helps you.
If you’re not willing to pick up the phone and call donors, prospective donors and referrals, please skip this post, major gift fundraising isn’t for you.
I recommend putting a process in place so you don’t even have to think about it.
Give the following process a try. It has worked to help get me visits and it has worked for others.
Set aside time to make 10 phone calls a day where you are asking donors or prospective donors to meet. That’s it. 10 calls day.
What, you say? Only 10 calls? Yes.
It works even better if you do more. But start with 10. You have plenty of time to do this.
10 calls a day x 5 days a week is 50 calls.
That’s 50 outreach attempts each week.
That’s 200 outreach attempts a month not counting email outreach!
If you follow this process and secure meetings with 10% of the folks you reach out to, you would secure 20 meetings each month.
Are there other things you need to be doing to raise funds besides prospecting? Of course.
But if you want to close gifts, you have to do the work to build your portfolio, especially if you don’t even have a portfolio of donors yet!
