Planning and preparing for donor meetings is vitally important.
Before you meet with a donor or prospective donor, take some time to think about the result you’re actually looking for. Visualize the meeting ahead of time.
Think about how you want to advance the relationship. What information is key?
What don’t you know that you need to know?
Think about what questions you need to ask. And think about how they might respond.
Think about what questions they might ask you. And think about your possible response.
Be relational. Get to know your donors. Show them the impact.
But plan and prepare. It will help you advance the relationship and substantially improve your results.
